Marine Museum of the Great Lakes at Kingston

The museum is situated on the site of the only federally built dry dock on the Great Lakes. Kingston Shipyard visitors can tour the Museum Ship Alexander Henry, a retired 3,000-ton Coast Guard icebreaker and buoy tender that now rests in the dry dock. There are also five museum galleries within the old Kingston Shipyard buildings that house a treasure trove of Great Lakes marine artifacts, models, images and paintings. The museum collections contain over 50,000 ship plans, 31,000 historic photo images, 3,500 linear feet of archives, 5,000 artifacts, and 12,000 books and periodicals.
